I'm not saying it's bad to have it exactly, game design is interesting and contrasting one's approach and philosophy.

I'm not sure, they already incentive you to go back to the area with various follower quests and the quests to get the material to buy the fleeces. I'm willing the conversation went something like 'it's not fun to make the player feel compelled to run areas they don't like'. That said I'm like 99% sure the devs already had this conversation internally and made a very intentional decision to make them available to buy while in development. You'll also find yourself valuing those decorations more if you had to work for them. It's cliche, but it's about the journey more than the destination.

The game is technically inconveniencing you by standing in the way of you finishing it and moving on to something else in your backlog. Sure that's technically more inconvenient, but by that same logic so is not having an instant-win-the-game button in the pause menu. I actually agree with this because if you can just buy the dungeon-specific decorations or follower forms, it takes away from the excitement of running the same area repeatedly for the sake of collecting them.
